Generation Esports Is Partnering with Lost Tribe Esports to Bring Gaming Options to Disengaged Jewish Youth

A few months ago, we discussed Lost Tribe Esports, an eSports league for Jewish youth, but now there has been a major update regarding them. Generation Esports (GenE), who are the founder and operator of the popular High School Esports League (HSEL) and Middle School Esports League (MSEL), have announced that they are entering into a renewed partnership with Lost Tribe Esports,

Thanks to this partnership with GenE, Lost Tribe Esports will be able to provide eSports tournaments, casual gaming, and special events for Jewish teens all over the world. This will be done by using the tools that GenE provides and combining them with the platforms that Lost Tribe Esports have already created, so they can engage and re-engage teens and adults in Jewish life and community, as well as introduce opportunities to connect with Jewish institutions and Israel.

As part of this partnership, GenE and Lost Tribe Esports will ensure safety, security, and meaningful engagement opportunities for all involved in their mutual initiatives. The two organizations will also have a zero-tolerance policy for any bullying and harassment, and will work to make sure tournament and communications channels are welcoming and respectful for all gamers, regardless of their background, gender, and ability.

This is not the first time GenE and Lost Tribe Esports have partnered, as the two had a previous partnership in the summer of 2020 to promote female-identifying esports competitors in their early teens and varsity leagues.  As part of this continued relationship, Lost Tribe Esports will field middle school and high school esports teams through both HSEL and MSEL, respectively, and there are plans to stream the high school level team’s matches on their Twitch channel.

The response to this partnership by various Jewish communities has been very positive, due to the work Lost Tribe Esports has been doing. Miriam Abramovich of the Buffalo Jewish Federation has noted, “It’s amazing for me to see the impact of these experiences as a parent. Both of my kids (14 and 11) have now participated in one of our collaborative game nights with Lost Tribe.” This is just one example though, as the partnership between GenE and Lost Tribe Esports will allow more kids to engage with their local Jewish community and find friends online in a safe space.

In today’s world, this partnership is needed more than ever due to rising levels of Anti-Semitism. We all should hope that this continues to provide a safe and nurturing outlet for young Jews.
